APSP TO OFFER ADVANCED EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AT THE 2008 INTERNATIONAL POOL | SPA | PATIO EXPO

DALLAS -- August 1, 2008 -- Spotlighting the important topics challenging today’s pool builders, retailers and service company professionals, the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals® (APSP) will offer advanced educational events during the 2008 International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo, November 18-20, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada USA. These special events are just one component of the Expo’s multi-dimensional, pre-show advanced educational programming.

“APSP has put together three compelling programs for elevating the quality of pool builders, retailers and service company professionals," said Donna Bellantone, Director of the International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo. “Each program offers a unique and remarkable curriculum that is guaranteed to grow skills and enrich personal development.”

The APSP Builders Institute, presented by the APSP Builders Council, is a two-day program of high-level seminars for pool and spa builders. Held November 16-17, the program features eight classes including, “Concrete Decks,” “Vanishing Edge and Rim Flow Pools Part 1,” “Vanishing Edge and Rim Flow Pools Part 2,” “Waterfalls: Design and Construction,” “Brilliant Glass Tile Installation: The Ultimate Upscale Design Element,” “Give It Your Best Shot - Gunite and Shotcrete in Swimming Pool Construction,” “Vanishing Edge Swimming Pool Hydraulics,” and “Design and Build: The Outdoor Kitchen.”

The APSP Retail Institute features a full day program, “So, Who Taught You How to Retail?” focusing on store design and merchandising secrets to increase sales and profits. Targeted to retailers of new stores, second locations or remodels, this program is presented by APSP Retailers Council. Held November 17, topics include store design tactics and secrets on how to maximize and maintain the store’s optimum selling image.

Presented by APSP Service Council, the APSP Technical Service Institute is a full day program featuring management-level presentations for owners, supervisors and managers of service companies.  Held November 17, classes include, “The Science Behind Sanitation and Oxidation,” “Anti-Entrapment - Our Changing Industry,” “Solutions to Weird Water Problems,” “California Title 20 and 24 Aquatic,” “Energy Analysis,” “Dual Disinfection for Commercial Pools,” “Practical Solutions to Proper Filtering and Suction Safety.” The program also includes four 15-minute vendor presentations from Stingl Products, Taylor Technologies, Del Ozone and LaMotte.

"Our councils spent months assembling the most relevant curriculum that will be taught by the industry's leading authorities,” said Bill Weber, President and CEO of APSP, the show’s official sponsor. "Each program offers educational content that is the best available."
