2008 INT’L POOL | SPA | PATIO EXPO MAKES THE MOVE TO MANDALAY BAY CONVENTION CENTER

DALLAS -- March 10, 2008 -- Along with a new name, the Int’l Pool | Spa | Patio Expo will also have a prominent new venue in the city of glitz and glamour for 2008. Moving to the south end of the renowned Las Vegas Strip, the former Int’l Pool & Spa Expo, Backyard Living Expo and AQUA Show will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, November 18-20, with the special education programs beginning November 15.

The 1.8-million-square-foot Mandalay Bay Convention Center, connected to the 4-diamond Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, is the fifth-largest convention facility in the United States and the largest meeting facility located on the Las Vegas Strip.

"We are pleased to bring the Int’l Pool | Spa | Patio Expo to the posh facilities of Mandalay Bay," said Donna Bellantone, Director of the newly combined show. “The first-class convention center combined with proximity to many lodging and dining choices, provides the ideal Las Vegas venue for the industry to gather."

Attendees and exhibitors will have easy transportation access to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center with the complimentary tram that runs between the Mandalay Bay, Excalibur and Luxor hotels. The monorail system also offers affordable transportation for those who opt for other hotels along the Strip, or who want to minimize car rentals.

Bill Weber, APSP President and CEO, believes the move to the Mandalay Bay offers real value and more choices for its members. “With the proximity to hotel restaurants, this new venue will allow members more interaction with business associates,” said Weber. “I encourage all of our members to embrace the move as a positive step for the long-term health and growth of our industry."

While the former AQUA Show has been held at the Mandalay Bay since 2003, the former Int’l Pool & Spa Expo and Backyard Living Expo have rotated between Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center and the Las Vegas Convention Center for the last four years.

The Int’l Pool | Spa | Patio Expo is sponsored by the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals [APSP] and Pool & Spa News, and endorsed by Genesis 3 Design Group.
