PSP/Deck Expo Commitment To Sustainability

Resources & News

Tasks Everyone Can Do

  • Bring a reusable water bottle, coffee cup and a reusable straw to PSP/Deck Expo to help reduce single-use products.
  • Consider walking or biking whenever possible or use public transportation for longer distances. If you do use a shared ride service such as Uber, Lyft, or a taxi, try to always carpool.
  • During your hotel stay take advantage of the linen/towel reuse programs and turn off lights and televisions when not in the room.
  • Take shorter showers to help reduce water consumption.
  • Responsibly dispose of waste materials by recycling at the convention center, at your hotel and wherever recycling bins are found throughout the city.
  • Download the PSP/Deck Expo mobile app. We have opted to not print a Show Guide or Floor Plan in 2022 to help reduce paper consumption and printing waste.

Shaping the Pool, Spa, Patio and Deck Industries for a Sustainable Future.

We know that sustainability is becoming increasingly important. Running PSP/Deck gives us many opportunities to improve our impact environmentally, socially and economically in the regions we operate.

We want to make PSP/Deck more responsible and play a role in helping the market improve its own sustainability. We do this through connecting people with networks and knowledge to help solve the big challenges in our industry.

Our three pledges

How are we making PSP/Deck Expo a more sustainable event?

Inspiring Sustainable Development

Environmental
Responsibility

Social
Responsibility

How Our Commitment Works

1. Inspiring Sustainable Development

Our first aim is for our events to inspire sustainable development.

This is about the sustainability of the industry that our event serves. With focus on our content and partnerships, we inspire our attendees, exhibitors and event teams to deliver a sustainable event.

2. Running an Environmentally Responsible Event

Our second aim is to run our events in an environmentally responsible manner.

The key is considering how we can reduce our carbon footprint through energy efficiency, consideration of our energy use, waste reduction and our procurement choices.

3. Running a Socially Responsible Event

Our third aim is to run our events in a socially responsible manner.

This requires us to think about the impact we have on the local community and whether we are being a good neighbor. It also includes how we consider the welfare of everyone at our events, how we do business in an ethical and safe manner and how we promote equality and accessibility.

See It In Action - Green Initiatives

Energy

We minimize energy use by reducing the lights, power, and HVAC during move-in and move-out times in exhibit halls. This helps reduce our event's carbon emissions from the venue energy use and helps us create Net Zero Carbon events, utilizing renewable electricity at PSP/Deck Expo 2022 and beyond.

Recycling

At the request of PSP/Deck Expo, the LVCC will monitor and track the volume of waste and recycling, which is already a part of LVCC's LEED certification. These initiatives have been implemented to focus on the waste diversion rate and divert as much waste from the show from the Las Vegas landfills as possible. The LVCC will have recycling cans for the show floor, lobbies, and outside all meeting rooms. There will also be recycling cans inside meeting rooms and PSP/Deck Expo contracted spaces. PSP/Deck Expo is also requesting a recycling stream of pallets and cardboard, which is part of LVCC's sustainability initiatives.

Staff Training

We train our staff to dispose of recyclable materials and other waste properly.

Composting

All leftover food from the event will be composted to help divert as much waste from the show from the Las Vegas landfills as possible. At the LVCC, the in-house catering company composts all kitchen waste, and most of the food-ware is made of biodegradable materials.

Food Donations

The LVCC makes food donations to local partners, coordinated by Centerplate

Water

The LVCC has over 60 water bottle filling stations throughout the convention center.

Carpet

We use pre-cut to-length tabletop vinyl, reusable drapery, wooden tables, and biodegradable trash can liners. We have also eliminated aisle carpet and no longer required booth carpet. All carpet, padding, and plastic covering used contain recycled content and are recyclable.

Badges

Badges will be printed on recycled paper stock, and you'll have the option to recycle them after the show.

Registration

We have moved to 100% online registration, eliminating the need for printed onsite registration forms.

Exhibitor Service Manual

Exhibitor Service Manuals (ESMs) are made available electronically via our website to reduce paper waste.

Show Program and Floor Plans

To help reduce paper consumption, printing waste, and paper waste, we no longer print the show program and floor plan. Attendees and exhibitors can access the digital show guide and the floor plan on our website and via the PSP/Deck Expo mobile app.

Signs & Graphics

Whenever possible, graphics are produced from environmentally responsible components with water-based inks.

Making PSP/Deck Expo 2022 a more sustainable event is a partnership between everyone involved, from show management and event contractors to our attendees and exhibitors.
