International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo, co-located with DeckExpo, Has Safety Protocols for 2020 Edition in Las Vegas

As the Industry Has a Record Year, We’re Rolling out the Informa AllSecure Framework to Ensure Your Safety at the Event.

Your team at the PSP Expo/DeckExpo is looking forward to seeing you this November at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas!

With your health and safety in mind, we will follow a newly developed set of strict measures developed by Informa, which produces the event.

The PSP Expo/DeckExpo may appear a bit different, as we'll be employing Informa AllSecure. It’s a set of standards developed by Informa, which produces more than 500 large-scale branded and transaction-oriented events in addition to PSP Expo/DeckExpo.

Informa AllSecure employs the highest standards of safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and quality for operating events. These recently published measures are in addition to advice from government and local authorities, which we’ll be following to safely host the PSP Expo/DeckExpo. It’s also in addition to the seven-point safety plan recently published by our host venue, Mandalay Bay. Mandalay Bay’s parent company, MGM Resorts, is currently requiring that guests wear masks inside public spaces.

For a health and safety-minded event, we’re planning to adopt, at a minimum, the following standards from Informa AllSecure:

  • Enhanced cleaning: Public, high-traffic areas of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center will undertake enhanced, deep cleaning before, during, and after PSP Expo/DeckExpo. We’re working with the venue to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness. This includes continuous sanitization throughout the course of an event, with a focus on high-touch areas such as door handles, restrooms, and food and beverage areas.
  • Non-contact registration: We’ll have a system that facilitates non-contact registration and badge pick-up for participants.
  • Limited physical contact: We are requesting that participants avoid physical contact, such as handshakes and embraces, promoting alternative ways to greet business partners. The exchange of printed materials, such as business cards and sales brochures, is discouraged, with digital alternatives recommended. In fact, exhibitors can use their Media Package to upload videos, PDFs, and more to their listing.
  • First aid: All event participants will have access to a qualified EMT and a separate quarantine area. Participants will be asked not to attend if they are feeling unwell, and the show team will follow local health authority guidance on detecting and managing anyone who displays symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Adapted conference rooms & sessions: We’re revising seating arrangements and set-up in conference and meeting rooms, to enable greater space between seats. We’re also working on solutions to avoid the sharing of equipment, like computers and microphones.

“We would not hold an event that we felt would risk the health or safety of our audience,” explained Ray Giovine, Group Director at Informa. “We do expect a more subdued event, but still one of high quality. We’re hearing from our exhibitors that they are having a banner year and want to carry that momentum through to 2021. And with the addition of DeckExpo, our attendees will have a more comprehensive selection of products and technology for outdoor living.”

Commitments remain firm for several key manufacturers who use the event to meet these builders, retailers, and service technicians.

“The response to AllSecure from our customers has been largely positive, instilling confidence we are making the right decision,” said Giovine. “We look forward to being the first event to bring the industry back together, close out an impressive year in 2020, and to kick off the 2021 outdoor living season.”

Registration details and information on obtaining exhibitor and/or sponsorship information are available. Registration will be live for attendees in mid-July, with exhibitor registration to follow a few weeks after. In the instance the event is canceled as a result of COVID-19, attendees and exhibitors alike can be assured the following flexibilities:

  • Exhibitors will choose to be refunded or have their payment applied to the 2021 event in Dallas.
  • All conference and expo registrants will be fully refunded.
  • If hotel accommodations are booked through the show’s official vendor, OnPeak, participants will receive a full refund.

Those with additional questions regarding Informa AllSecure are encouraged to reach out to Megan Magaña, Senior Marketing Manager for PSP Expo/DeckExpo, at [email protected].

The PSP Expo team is continuing to closely monitor the developments of the Novel Coronavirus, COVID-19, through the advice of public health authorities. We wish to reassure our visitors, customers, and colleagues their health and safety is always the top priority.

At this time, there is no direct impact to the event. However, as this situation is continuing to evolve, we do have a contingency plan in place. Our attendees and exhibitors can be reassured PSP Expo is going ahead as planned. Registration will open this summer, and it’s entirely business as usual for this important industry event.

We continue to follow all safety advice and precautions as recommended by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as well as the World Health Organization (WHO) in addition to the Nevada Department of Health who are monitoring COVID-19.
